AFWA 2016. Emerging and established fashion designers from Europe and Africa will take part in the 3-day event, with a focus on showcasing African & African inspired fashion, art, culture and rich heritage to a worldwide audience.

AFWA is kicking off on 24th August with a press conference as on opportunity to meet and interview participating designers. Superstar and host Ramsey Nouah will be opening the event. Followed by days with parades across the runway as if it were a tale! Before and during the breaks there are exhibitions and there is music and entertainment. During each show day a guest will receive a special gift. Icing on the cake is the Diamond Ring for one guest on Saturday the 27th August.

CHANTELL – AFWA FACE 2016

Chantell Dapaah is a name that needs no introductions in the world of modeling, fashion and beauty. She is The Ghanaian fashion model, beauty queen and brand face with over 9 years of experience. As a kid she did a little modeling here and there. Modeling professionally started in 2008 when she joined Exotic Modeling Agency to get professional training. Ever since then she could be seen in many adverts, Look Books, campaigns and so on. She worked as a brand ambassador for Cultured Concepts (USA) and T’Best Drinks amongst others and she was a model at several fashion shows. In 2013 and 2014 she played in movies as well.

AFWA is an annual event focused on exhibiting the beauty of African couture, art and fashion to a European and global audience. AFWA 2016 is a multiday event, that includes runway shows, exhibitions and network meetings. The sole purpose is raising awareness of the work of African fashion designers and African inspired couture, providing multiple opportunities for showcasting theit work to a broad audience. The event will showcase the latest fashion trends of the emerging vibrant African art and design industry to the European audience, offering opportunities for vendor exhibitions, linking with business leaders, sponsors, local buyers, agents and media.

Africa has a very young population, in regards to this, the continent will have a very large labour potential in the future. AFWA focuses on the trade and labour possibilities for Africa, but also emphasizes and Africa’s cultural richness and beauty by aiming for a cultural exchange of fashion, art and culture on an international platform. AFWA presents designers latest collections to the fashion press: fashion journalists, photographers, stylists, retail buyers and the fashion audience. They all meet each other in a vibrant professional setting.
