Northern slackers Party Hardly have just shared their woozy, lackadaisical hit ‘Have We Got Time’ – taken from a new cassette due March 23rd on Witchgirl Recordings.

Party Hardlyhave been busy earning lofty praise across the board with their woozy, surf-pop anthems. Born out of a Leeds bedroom in early 2016, Tom, Matt, Stan and Lachlan, throw up infectious, off-kilter guitar pop.

Their next release comes in the form of a double A-side single on Witchgirl Recordings ‘Have We Got Time/Oh My God’ will be released on cassette March 23rd. Until then the band is now sharing the wonky, lackadaisical gem ‘Have We Got Time’.

Party Hardly

Bustling around quirky, chorus-soaked guitars, Have We Got Time is a total slacker anthem fueled by whimsical and dangerously catchy pop melodies, sugar-coated harmonies and an apathetic Northern charm. It’s a buoyant, sun-soaked mix of The Beach Boys, Pavement and Weezer distilled through a lo-fi pop filter akin to the PNKSLM spectrum.

In their short existence, the band has developed an ever-growing reputation for their raucous performances, supporting the likes of Bruising, Diet Cig, The Magic Gang and INHEAVEN. Releasing a small number of singles on the way, one of which through DIY heavyweights Art Is Hard.

The band explain that “‘Have We Got Time’ is a lament to growing older and how your life and the people around you change as the years go by, the irony of ‘friends for life’, how easy it is for people to come and go, the loss of teen innocence and the realization that one day we’ll all have to be doing our own thing and getting on with our own lives.”

“Off-piste slacker jams that veer between Pavement style lyrical abstraction and PNK SLM’s woozy pop” Clash

“Strung out and dictated by sweet-as-can-be hooks, it’s the sound of youth taking a big next step, with fear, trepidation and excitement battling it out in one beastly dance”. – DIY

“Together with other up-and-coming groups from the North of England – Party Hardly are proving that London isn’t always the best place to hear the cutting edge sounds of tomorrow”Overblown
